抄録

The purpose of this paper was to make clear the difference of the teacher's career between men and women under the same condition both educational background and age. We send the questionnaire to the graduates who left school before and after the World War II in Nagano Normal School and received 351 cases. The main findings were as follows ; 1.The rate of leaving and/or changing the job was higher than our expectations ; men were 30 percent, and women were 90 ; and as for their age range, men's mass trooped around the youger age, but women's age range were extended in every age. 2.2 in 3 of women leaving the teacher's job were never come back to the career. 3.As a result, the average length of vocational life was 35 years of men, and the women were only a half men.
