抄録

A case of acute myeloid leukemia with preceding leukemic infiltration to the uterus and vaginal cytology is reported.<BR>A 52-year-old woman was well until a total hysterectomy was performed about 2.5 months before admission because of myoma uteri.<BR>Vaginal smears before and after hysterectomy showed many leukemic cells when hematological findings were normal.<BR>Histological examination of the removed uterus revealed diffuse leukemic infiltration of acute myeloid leukemia.<BR>After the 17th day of hospitalization, the number of leukemic cells in the peripheral blood increased day by day.<BR>Three days before her death, marked infiltration of leukemic cells was seen in the bone marrow biopsy specimen.<BR>Autopsy was not performed.
