抄録

The chemical shifts of the X-ray K absorption discontinuities of copper and cobalt and of the L_III absorption discontinuity of samarium have been studied in the compounds SmCu₅ and SmCo₅, using a 40 cm Cauchois type bent crystal X-ray spectrograph. The extended fine structure (EFS) observed in the vicinity of the K absorption discontinuities of copper and cobalt in the pure metals and in the two compounds has also been studied. The results on the chemical shifts and the EFS have been briefly analysed in terms of the chemical bonding.
