Stark and Zeeman Spectroscopies of Sm I from Metastable-State Atomic Beam Produced by Electric Discharge

Abstract

Hyperfine strttcttrres, isotope shifts, Stark and Zeeraaan effects of 5 tratasitions in 8111 Iare investigated by ttaeans of atouaaic-lceana laser spectroscopy. We 111(B2LSL1F6 the tratnsitionsfrona 10801.10- and 12313.11-Clll ' taaetastable levels with 44"5dC3s configtmration to 27925.31-,-128704.25- 29041.31- and 30753.65-craa odd-parity levels, whicvh are candidates in order to 111621-strre parity nonconserving elect in Sill. H3'perfine constants A and B f'or odd-tnass isotopes""Sraa and Srn are obtained except for 30753,65-Clll ' level. Isotope shi['ts of the transitions149are deterrnined and specific tnass shift and field shift are 21180 derived by King-plot analysis.Stark splitting is resolved for the transition between 12313.11- and 30753.65-Clll ' levels, andthe tensor polarizability of the tnpper level is deterttained to be ax = 535(12) kHz/(kV/am)',Fronu Zeenaan splitting, y-f'actors are precisely deterza?ined for 4 levels.
