Abstract
高次元時空内で交差するD-ブレーンは, 素粒子現象模型や宇宙論を弦理論から構築する際に不可欠である.交差するD-ブレーンの組みかえの物理は, ブレーンの対消滅とも関係した弦理論で重要な対象であり, ヒッグス現象の幾何学的実現など現象模型構築に深く関係してくる.また近年, 宇宙ひもがD-ブレーンである可能性が指摘され, 組みかえの物理が観測にかかるかもしれない.ここでは, 組みかえ機構の証明とその物理への応用を述べる.
Intersecting D-branes in higher spacetime dimensions are indispensable objects in string theory to construct phenomenological models of particle physics and cosmologies. The physics of "reconnection" of the intersecting D-branes is important in string theory concerning annihilation process of branes, and related deeply to a geometrical realization of the Higgs mechanism. Recently, a possibility to identify cosmic strings as D-branes was proposed, according to which the brane reconnection itself might be observed in future observatories. In this article, I reveal the reconnection mechanism and describe its application to various physics.
