Paclitaxel(Taxol), which has become the first line agent in chemotherapy for ovarian cancer, is known to induce hypersensitive reactions. But in japan, no case of a paclitaxel-induced hypersensitive reaction has been reported. We recently saw a clinical case which developed to hypersensitive reactions with the administration of paclitaxel. The patient showed symptoms of nausea, vomiting, sweating, flushing, angioedema, rhinorrhea, hypotension and loss of consciousness. The patient was treated with ephedrine hydrochloride, dopamine hydrochloride and hydrocortisone sodium succinate. In this case, with the immediate treatment, the patient recovered witout any sequelae. This is the first clinical case report in Japan.
