抄録

Sol-gel synthesis, characterization and a possible explanation for the formation of TiO₂-modified SiO₂ mesoporous materials are described. The effects of TEOS-aging time and Ti-quantity have been investigated systematically. Surface area above 1000m²/g was obtained with low quantity of Ti-loading when SiO₂ gelation was only half completed. The higher sorption capacity for water was interrelated to higher acidity. Phase separation may occur in the Ti-rich region.
