Abstract

Two new species of oribatid mites belonging to the family Synichotritidae, Synichotritia foveolata sp. nov. from Hunan Province and S. tianmuensis sp. nov. from Tianmu Mountain, are described. The former is characterized by the foveolate body surface and the latter by the bifid sensilli and 4-5 long, barbed setae on the posterior margin of anterior bar in genital region. A key to the species of the genus is also given.
