作業療法教育カリキュラムに関する一考察 : 米国ボストン大学大学院課程の検討 A Study of the Post-Graduate Occupational Therapy Program in Boston University

今日、我が国の作業療法教育(以下OT教育)は3つの問題に直面している。1つは近年の養成校急増に伴う教員不足、2つ目は教育のガイドラインである厚生省指定規則と文部省大学設置基準との関係、さらにはOT教育に関する研究の立ち後れである。問題解決の手がかりとして、1910年代の当初から大学においてOT教育をスタートさせていた米国のカリキュラムを検討する必要を感じた。そこで、内外から高い評価を受けていたボストン大学を選び、教育や研究者の育成に焦点を当てた大学院カリキュラムを調査した結果、次のことが分かった。(1)4種類(MSOT、MS、CAGS、ScD)の大学院プログラムがあった。(2)医学系科目に比し作業療法専門科目が多く開講され1科目4単位が基本であった。(3)臨床実習は、期間と時間数の指定のみで単位数はゼロであった。(4)臨床実習の一部は実習する領域を学生が選択できた。(5)修士(MS)課程では教育と研究分野の進路別カリキュラムがあった。

One of the major concern of the occupational therapy education in Japan is to develop the post-graduate program at the university level. To get some informations and advice for it, the post-graduate occupational therapy program in Boston university was surveyed. The results were as follows:(1)There were four types(MSOT, MS, CAGS, ScD) of the progurams for the post-graduate students. (2)Wide variety of the occupational therapy related subjects such as school risk managiment, chutorial teaching method and assistive technology were prepaired and most of each subject provied four credits. (3)In the MSOT proguram, the crinical internship provide zero credit. (4)Students can choose the area of the internship by themselves. (5)In the MS proguram, there were two tracks(the educational track and the research track) and the students choose one of them by the advice of the advisor.
