抄録

Noise radiates from a jet issuing from an exhaust pipe of automotive engines and reciprocating compressors. The jet is unsteady and has some sources of noise such as the jet itself, shock wave and the interaction between shock and vortex, between shock and shock, between shock and jet boundary, etc. In order to analyze the mechanism of noise generation, in particular the noise caused by the shock-vortex interaction, the pulsating jet from the exhaust pipe is numerically simulated. A Random-Choise Method was employed for the calculation of the flow field in the pipe and a TVD scheme for the flow field downstream of the pipe end. The flow fields with the pulsation at the different frequencies were examined. As a result, the relation between the structure of the unsteady jet and the noise generation was, in part, clarified.
