抄録

The Q-branch multiplex CARS of nitrogen is simulated in the low-pressure range. In general, Voigt profiles are used when both Doppler and pressure broadening can not be neglected. It is verified that Voigt profiles become Doppler-limit profiles as the pressure-broadening parameter approaches zero. The pressure range in which the Doppler-limit profiles can be used is investigated by the least-squares fitting of Doppler-limit profiles to Voigt profiles. It is found that Doppler-limit profiles can be used in the pressure range lower than 20 Torr if temperature errors of less than 30 K are permitted.
