Although design support systems have been well developed in geometric and detail design areas, they are still not successful in conceptual or creative design domain. In our opinion, the main difficulty is knowledge and its operation that play a crucial role in conceptual design. In this paper, we propose "Universal Abduction Studio" that is a new approach to support designers by computers, and discuss technologies to realize it.
