Patients with Parkinson's syndrome are prone to fall down while walking. This is caused by, among others, forebent posture, start hesitation, shuffling gait, demarche a petit pas, festinating gait, propulsion, and freezing of gait. Rehabilitation is directed at the main causes of impairment and increase range of motion, efforts to improve postural control and standing balance, mobility training, and progressive ambulation. For in order to accomplish these patients rehabilitation purpose in hospitals which impose a constant and heavy burden upon the health care personnel who must assist them. Therefore, in order for patients to rehabilitate themselves, and they need an intelligent exercise machine that supports them while walking. We are currently developing a program for such a machine. It will adjust its walking movements to the symptoms of Parkinson's syndrome. This study describes the patient gait data which were obtained from surface Electromyograms (sEMG) of legs and from a device which measures foot contact pressure.
