This paper reports the endurance of cobalt-cemented tungsten carbide (WC-Co) cutting tools with CVD diamond coatings, which were deposited with various methane concentration. We examined the adhesive toughness of coatings deposited on WC-Co substrates with various methane concentration. Discussion would be focused on the correlation between the adhesive toughness of diamond coatings and the performance as wear-resistant coatings.
