抄録

The objective of the present study is to investigate experimentally the cooling effect of ice-slurry, which contacts quickly high-temperature surface at the top wall of a horizontal rectangular channel We adopt a mixture of fine ice particles and ethyleneglycol aqueous solution as a testing ice-slurry. Experiments were carried out for a variety of the flow rates and I.P.F. of ice-slurry. The melting behavior was observed by use of high-speed camera The most importance of the present study is that both melting and boiling occurs at the same time. The experimental results revealed that high heat flux was obtained by the effect of both boiling and melting of ice-slurry and that heat transfer on the heated surface was enhanced by increasing the flow rate and I.P.F. of ice-slurry.
