Purpose of this study is clarifying the sound insulation characteristics of the circular slit resonators and elliptic slit resonators with additional active noise sources. The hybrid system which consists of these slit resonators with loudspeakers and the active noise control technique (ANC) is expected to improve the sound attenuation performance of resonators.This paper describes sound insulation characteristics of these slit resonators that combined ANC system at cylindorical duct edge. The thin air layer is driven by four loudspeakers that are controlled using Filtered X-LMS algorithm to minimize sound pressure at outside error microphone. The experimental results show that this hybrid system has two noise absorption regions. There are 30dB to 45dB noise reductions in the frequency range 150Hz to 2kHz. By combining ANC with the slit resonators, attenuation performance at resonant frequency in the high range 2kHz to 5kHz are increased greatly.
