抄録

We studied experimentally and numerically the flow patterns and axial dispersion in a wavy-walled tube for oscillatory flow. The flow separation appears at the wall and then disappears at the center line during oscillation cycle. This vortex dynamics leads to axial dispersion even in the absence of diffusion, which is quite different from the augmentation of diffusion due to radial heat and mass transfer.
