Abstract

Ball Way is a mechanical element used in linear moving parts of machine tools. Ball Way has the advantage whose friction is small by balls and raceways rolling contact. It made use of that advantage, and the demand hand been extended rapidly recently. But, the improvement in the durability is asked to escalate the demand more from now on. When raising the durability and reliability for which Ball Way is asked, it is disadvantageous in cost to raise the intensity of the material itself. Because of that, the application of the surface quality technology and the development become important. So, particle projection processing being used with the purpose such as durability improvement was used as the surface modification method by this study.
