Recently, the miniaturization of the cellular phone is advanced. However, the cellular phone should endure the dropping impact assumed in use. The impact to the cellular phone is appreciable with the sensor for the impact detection such as the acceleration sensors and the strain gauges. However, there is a problem with a large error of the measurement data by manual drop test. Then, we have developed the drop tester enabling to keep the fall posture of the specimen constant. As a result, we became possible the test without the error of the measurement data. This paper describes the structure and the performance of the drop tester.
