Protoplast Formation from Mycelia of Penicillium digitatum by Cell Wall-Lytic Enzymes of Trichoderma harzianum

A freeze-dried enzyme preparation from the culture filtrate of Trichoderma harzianum ATCC 48131 exhibits high cell wall-lytic activity and induces intact protoplasts from mycelia of Penicillium digitatum ATCC 10030 in mannitol slution (pH 5.5-6.0) within 4 h at 30℃. This crude enzyme preparation is more efficient than the commercial enzyme Novozyme 234.
