Magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectra were measured for sputter-deposited Mn_<1-x> Cr_xPt_3 and MBE-grown CrPt_3 films. Applying the magneto-optical sum rules, it was found that the moment ratio <L_z> / 2 <S_z> of Cr is very large compared with that of Mn. The moment ratios for Cr and Mn are almost independent of the composition x. In the CrPt_3 film grown epitaxially on MgO(111) substrate, the orbital moment was found to be small compared to that of the polycrystalline films. A close relationship was found between the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy and the orbital moment.
