抄録

本論文では，膨大な1次情報英語文書を利用者が容易に蓄積管理し，文書中の目次・索引を利用して検索を行ったり，検索の結果得られた文書に対し自由な書き換え，編集作業を行って新たな文書を作成することができるようなトランスメディアシステムの実現について述ベている．文献などの1次情報文書を入力・蓄積する方法としては文書を画像のまま蓄積する方式が有利である．また1次情報データベースを構築するには文字列検索を基礎とする全文検索機能が必須である．トランスメディアシステムは電子ファイリングシステムと同様に文書を画像のまま蓄積し，文字認識を行うことなく機械可読な文書に対すると同等な全文検索機能を可能にしている．トランスメディアシステムでは，蓄積された文書に対する任意の文字の挿入・削除を可能にするワードプロセッシング機能，任意の文字列を検索するキーワードサーチ機能，文書中の目次や索引を索引メニューとして利用可能にする自動索引作成機能，被検索語を含む文を画面中央に表示するKWIC (Keyword?In?Context）機能，検索要求と関連・類似する情報を含む文書を検索対象として呼び出すハイパテキスト機能を実現している．

This paper describes a new document management system called "Transmedia System" which provides users with function to input,to store and to manage English printed materials such as boosk and periodicals.It has a screen text editor for users to rewrite a retrieved text to create a new document.Transmedia System inputs and stores printed texts as images.The text search can be performed through image texts as well as machine readable texts.This system requires no character recognition.Transmedia System gas four major functions:(1) a word processing function which enables users to insert and delete any character to and from original texts,(2) a keyword search function to retrieve an arbitrary character string,(3) KWIC(Keyword-In-Context) function to display all the sentences that contain a specified word,and (4) a hypertext function that recalls documents associated with a requested given word.
