ビデオ映像から映像の内容に基づいてシーンを検索するためには，映像の内容記述によるインデックス付けを行う必要がある．時間的な連続性を持った情報メディアである映像に対して，従来行われてきた時間区間の映像に対する厳密な内容記述では，記述者が事前に数多くのシーンを定義する必要がある．本研究では，時刻印付オーサリンググラフという新しい映像記述方式を提案し，映像に対する断片的な内容記述と記述間の意味的な関連性に基づいた映像記述を行っている．時刻印付オーサリンググラフでは，事前に記述者がシーンを定義する必要がなく，検索要求に合ったシーンを検索ごとに特定することができる．本稿では，時刻印付オーサリンググラフによるビデオ映像の記述とシーン検索の方法について述べるとともに，検索結果を比較検討するための評価基準について述べる．さらに，Java言語を使った記述および検索インタフェースの実装についても述べる．

In order to retrieve scenes for a query from videos,every video must be indexed by the descriptions of its contents.For many description models which are based on pre-identified temporal intervals,it is not easy to give precise descriptions of video parts that are carefully extracted from a continuous stream of video images.Our "time-stamped authoring graph" is a new video description model and retrieval method based on fragmentary descriptions of video contents and their relationships.By using a time-stamped authoring graph,an author does not need to identify many video parts precisely,and the retrieval process determines the most preferable parts of a video for each query.In this paper,the video description and retrieval algorithm using a time-stamped authoring graph is explained,and the criteria for selecting or ranking retrieval results are described.The design and implementation of the prototype for authoring and retrieval interfaces by using Java are also described.
