It is useful to analyze the magnetic escapement as a kind of reluctance motor. One of the main problems for that purpose is to disclose some form of magnetic potential, ie State function which is determined by the teeth form of the magnetic wheel, the air-gap flux of the driving magnet and so on. This function was not evident as yet, but a new method in which the air-gap flux density distribution is simulated by sinusoidal wave form in space has revealed to be able to represent it as simple one with two independent variables. Values Computed from this are found to be in rather good agreement with values mesured for a range of the experimental magnetic escapement. Consequently, possibility of evaluation of design parametres is expected. And this paper is discussed on the following points. a) derivation of general state function b) Out put static torque c) out put mean torque at synchronous speed d) out put power of a transistor circuit e) amplitude of the driving magnet and load angle f) fluctuation of load angle
