抄録

We investigated the recording characteristics and thermal decay of Tb₁₅Co₈₅/Co-Cr-Pt-B composite perpendicular media with Tb-Co amorphous layers of various thicknesses. It was found that the S/N value of composite medium at a Tb-Co thickness of 5 nm was about 7 dB higher than that of Co-Cr-Pt-B medium. It was also found that composite media with a Tb-Co thickness more than 5 nm showed no thermal decay.
