抄録

Aldohexose and methylpentose have been found as the constituents of the polysaccharide containing calcium (Ca-polysaccharide) by means of paper chromatography and specific colour reactions of acid hydrolyzate. Furthermore glucose was identified from aldohexose fraction by saccharic acid formation and baker's yeast fermentation, while fucose was identified by the melting point of phenylosazone (177°～187°) from methylpentose fraction.But, there was no evidence of the presence of any organic acid supposed to be combined with calcium.
