Abstract

機械翻訳システムは、機能表現の意味を正しく認定できなかった場合、まったく意味の通らない訳文や致命的な誤訳を出力することが多い。本研究では、現在の機械翻訳システムが機能表現「なら」をどのように訳すかを調査し、前編集において「なら」を適切に言い換えることによって、翻訳品質が向上するかどうかを調べた。

Machine translation systems tend to produce an odd or incorrect translation when they fail to identify the correct meaning of a functional word in the input sentence. This paper proposes a method for paraphrasing Japanese functional word "nara" to improve the translation quality.
