抄録

Most of China is confronting the great threat of land degradation during the last half century. Therefore, the regeneration of desertified region is one of the most important measures in China. As Sabina vulgaris growing in Mu-Us desert under natural condition can establish a dense and compact patch on the drifting sand dune by the very strong windbreak ability, it will be a very important and useful plant material for the combating desertification. In this review, some physiological and ecological characteristics of S. vulgaris were summarized from the viewpoint of the future research and practice on the construction of shelter wood in semi-arid region for the combating
