「デジタルアーカイブ」とはどのような行為なのか  [in Japanese] Problems of "Digital Archive" as Action  [in Japanese]

デジタルアーカイブの目的として「文化の次世代への正しい継承」ということがしばしば言われる。しかし、文化が変化を前提としていると考えれば、デジタルアーカイブによって「次世代への正しい継承」はできず、場合によってはそれを阻害する可能性もある。また、デジタルアーカイブによる「次世代への正しい継承」という言説の背景には、研究者やデジタル技術による特定イデオロギーヘの権威付けや、国家政策との関連が見出される。デジタルアーカイブは、むしろ、このような運動を相対化する方向で活用されるべきではないだろうか。

"The right succession to the next generation of culture" is often said as a purpose of digital archives. However, given that culture always changes, "the right succession" can not be attained by digital archives, but may be disturbed in some cases. Moreover, investigating the background of "the right succession, " we can find the authorization to the specific ideologies by the researchers or the digital technologies, and relation with a national policy. We suggest that digital archives should be developed and utilized in order to deconstruct such movements.
