情報検索のテストコレクションにおける検索語の有用性に関する検討(セッション1: 言語情報・情報検索)  [in Japanese] Analysis on Effectiveness of Query Terms in Information Retrieval Test Collection  [in Japanese]

多くの情報検索システムの利用者にとって、情報要求を適切に表現する検索語を選択することは必ずしも容易ではない。その結果として、検索要求と検索語の間にギャップが生じることがあり、そのギャップが検索課題の難易度に影響を与えると考えられる。そこで、本論文では、情報検索のテストコレクションにおける検索語の有用性を検討するために有用であると考えられる指標を提案すると共に、検索性能への影響の相関性を調べる。

In many cases, it is not easy for a user of Information Retrieval (IR) to select appropriate query terms for representing his/her information need. Since this mismatch between query terms and information need affects the topic difficulty, it is better to have a framework to evaluate the effectiveness of the query terms. Therefore, in this paper, I propose some feature quantities that characterize quality of initial query in test collection. I also analyze correlation coefficient between these quantities and retrieval performance by using NTCIR-4 web test collection.
