Abstract

Twelve dissolving agents for gypsum products were analyzed by IR. WDX and TG-DTA, and the main component was identified. The pH of dissolving agents was measured before and after immersion of the set gypsum specimen in the dissolving agent. Solubility of gypsum in dissolving agents was measured at 1,2 and 3 hours after immersion. The main component was highly estimated with N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine-N,N',N'-triaceticacid trisodium salt. The solid content was 10.4-31.8%. The pH of unused dissolving agents was 8-9 in 10 products and over 13 in 2. The solubility of the gypsum increased with the increase in immersion time, and it became 100% at 2-3 hours after immersion in the pH 8-9 products, and 14.3-37.4% at 3 hours after immersion in the pH > 13 products.
