広域地下水シミュレーションの発展  [in Japanese] Development of groundwater simulation models  [in Japanese]

Groundwater simulation models were developped in the 1970's. The purposes of modeling are prediction of subsidence and analysis of groundwater motion in the regional groundwater basins in Japan. In this paper, development stages of groundwater modeling are subdivided into the following three stages and progress in groundwater management are reviewed. (1) Quasi three dimensional model (early 70's), (2) Vertical two dimensional model (mid 70's), (3) Three dimensional model and management model (late 70's).
