Abstract
Several methods for the judgement of liquefaction which is one of the ground destructions due to earthquake were compared. The methods and theories for the judgement establised by various systems were classified into several groups, and were compared by employing typical techniques. These techniques were, 1) critical N-value and grain size distribution, 2) factor of safety against liquefaction defined in terms of shear stress ratio, and 3) detailed prediction on cyclic triaxial compression test for liquefaction and earthquake response analysis. Particularly, the method, 3), was in detail examined for the possibility of precise judgement. Consequently, the possibility by the cyclic triaxial compression test for liquefaction and the earthquake response analysis by using non-stationaly waves was confirmed.
