Abstract
Various aspects of fission track dating, such as history, principles, constants, procedural variations and technical details, are reviewed and summarized with special reference to problems encountered in dating Quaternary zircon and glass samples. Also various aspects of application of the fission track dating method to the Quaternary Period was reviewed. The main area of application is in establishment of the chronological framework of the Quaternary stratigraphy, in combination with tephrostratigraphy.
