日本海の拡大期における備北層群の底生有孔虫群集  [in Japanese] Benthic foraminiferal assemblages from the Bihoku Group during the opening of the Sea of Japan  [in Japanese]

Abstract

Foram. ODP Site797(大和海盆)でもForam.

Benthic foraminifera from the Bihoku Group distributed in southwest Honshu were studied from the viewpoint of assemblage zones and discussed in relation to the opening event of the Sea of Japan. The Foram. Sharp Line recognized as a distinct faunal change in the Middle Miocene occurred during the opening of the Sea of Japan. Barren foraminiferal interval occurs above the Foram. Sharp Line, which indicates the formation of anoxic bottom water in the Middle Miocene basins in southwest Honshu. This event is due to the differential vertical movement of southwest Honshu. The Foram, Sharp Line is also found in the ODP Site 797, Yamato Basin, at 14.3 Ma, suggesting the coeval event in the southwestern Sea of Japan area.
