湖沼の成因と環境・地質  [in Japanese] Lakes-Origin, Environment and Geology  [in Japanese]

本稿では最近の湖沼を巡る社会的環境の変化と, 湖沼研究の流れ, 湖沼研究の将来展望について地質学的側面から述べた。我が国の湖沼は, その時代の社会的要請に応じて環境の変更が加えられ, 干拓による消滅の危機や「水ガメ化」による水質汚濁を経験している湖沼が多い。湖沼環境の変更は, それが鮮明な戦後のものが注目されやすいが, 江戸時代にも大きな環境変化があったことに注意する必要がある。最近の湖沼研究は, 様々な調査機器の発展, 調査手法の進展により, 湖底や湖底下の状態がより詳細に把握されるようになり, 様々なイベントを堆積物から読み取ることが可能になった。今後の湖沼研究の発展方向としては, 地球規模の環境問題・災害予測・湖沼の環境保全などが考えられる。

In recent years, the remarkable changes in the lake environment, represented by water pollution in various lakes, have resulted in social problems. Nowadays, the lake problems have thus called the attention of many people. This situation means that the present problems should be seriously considered from various aspects. In addition, the researches from new points of view also have started in connection with the global environment. In order to meet these trends, the geological investigations also have been actively made in various sites. In this paper, the recent changes in the social environmentin relation to lakes, and the recent trend and the future prospect of the lake studies are reviewed from the geological aspects.
