新潟堆積盆地における3タイプの第4オーダー堆積シーケンスモデル  [in Japanese] Three types of 4th-order depositional sequence model in the Niigata sedimentary basin  [in Japanese]

Abstract

4th-order depositional sequences, observed typically within Upper Neogene and Quaternary succession in Kanbara area, are classified into three types; "fan-delta", "retrogradational and aggradational" and "progradational". These three types of 4th-order depositional sequence could be formed respectively in falling or low-stand stable phase, rising phase and highstand stable phase of 3rd-order relative sea-level cycle. Such a sequence stratigraphic framework would be characterized by hierarchy in relative sea-level cycles. The hierarchy in relative sea-level cycles might have significance for study of depositional history not only in Kanbara area but also in the Niigata sedimentary basin or Northern Fossa Magna region.
