Abstract
久慈層群は, 北部三陸海岸の久慈市から九戸郡野田村にかけて分布する, 浦河海進時の堆積物で, 下位から玉川層, 国丹層および沢山層により構成される。本層群は, 砂岩を主とし礫岩, 泥岩および凝灰岩を伴い, 全層厚は420 mである。本層群の堆積相は9つに区分される。堆積相から推定される堆積環境は, 前浜, 上部〜下部外浜〜内側陸棚, 扇状地, 砂丘, ラグーンおよび河川などである。また, 久慈層群堆積時の堆積環境は, 玉川層では, 扇状地・ラグーン→沿岸域 (外浜・前浜・砂丘)→河川→沿岸域(外浜)→河川, 国丹層では, 外浜〜内側陸棚→外浜, 内側陸棚→外浜, 沢山層では, 河川・氾濫原への変遷を示した。これらの古環境変遷より4回の海進・海退が認められ, その中で3回目と4回目が海進の規模が大きかった。また久慈層群には, 堆積シークェンスが少なくとも4つ識別され, 玉川層の基底, 玉川層中部, 玉川層中部と上部の間および国丹層中部の上限付近にそれぞれシークェンス境界が推定される。
The Kuji Group is exposed in Kuji city and Kunohe-gun districts along the northern Sanriku Coast. The group is divided into Tamagawa, Kunitan and Sawayama Formations in ascending order. The Kuji Group is comprisesd of sandstone associated with conglomerate, mudstone and tuff, and has a thickness of about 420 m. Nine depositional facies are recognized in the study area. They are interpreted as sediments of alluvial fan and in channel, and the flood plain of meandering rivers, coastal dune, lagoon, foreshore, upper shoreface, lower shoreface and inner shelf. Sedimentary environments of the Kuji Group are estimated to be fluvial to nearshore for the Tamagawa Formation, nearshore to inner shelf for the Kunitan Formation and fluvial for the Sawayama Formation. Related to the Urakawa Transgression, two minor transgressions in the Tamagawa Formation and one major transgression in the Kunitan Formation are recognized. From a sequence stratigraphic view, four depositional sequences (DS1 to DS4 in ascending order) formed in response to relative sea-level changes in the late Cretaceous have been recognized in the Kuji Group. DS1 and DS2 are related to the transgressions in the Tamagawa Formation, respectively, and DS3 and DS4 to the major transgression in the Kunitan Formation.
