地震動を規制する大阪盆地の深部地下構造特性  [in Japanese] Geologic structures affecting seismic strong motion in Osaka sedimentary basin  [in Japanese]

Abstract

The 1995 Hyogo-ken Nanbu Earthquake caused serious damages in a large area in central Kinki district, southwest Japan. In Osaka area, damaged zones were distributed along the Uemachi-Butsunenjiyama fault, which brought a remarkable difference of depth of basement rocks. The simulation using the ray theory revealed that the focusing process of seismic wave controlled by the subsurface geomorphology of basement rocks should cause these damages and their distribution. We also applied the same simulation to subsurface graven structure, which is similar to severely damaged Takarazuka City along the Arima-Takatsuki Tectonic Line, and obtained intensive concentration of seismic rays at the inside of the graven. The most severely damaged zone in Kobe-Hanshin area was distributed in a narrow belt parallel to the subsurface faults carp, distinguished by our three dimensional gravity analysis. This distribution of damaged zone also suggests that the focusing effect could cause the disaster also in Kobe-Hanshin area. Almost all damaged area by this earthquake, therefore, are distributed near active faults characterized by its presence at the basin edge, where the subsurface geomorphology should link to the focusing effect of seismic waves.
