デスクトップビデオ会議システムを利用する時、ユーザは会議以外にも、個人的な文書作成作業など、多様なタスクをコンピュータのデスクトップ上で行う。これらのタスク間の遷移をスムーズに行うためのインタフェースを提案する。ユーザ自身のワープロ文書などは通常のコンピュータ同様にデスクトップ上に配置される。提案手法では、コミュニケーションチャネルのウィンドウの配置に関しては、ユーザ自身のそのチャネルへの関心度と、コミュニケーションチャネルを介して接続される相手ユーザの主張度の両方を反映して決定する。複数の表現方法を実現しての実験を通じて、方式の有効性を議論する。

When using desktop video communication media,users'have to simultaneously handle many tasks, such as typing own documents and talking to others through video chat windows. This paper proposes a new approach to support such switching. Regular desktop window systems display and arrange the windows holding the user's own documents or the windows for communication on the computer screen according to the user's preferences. In the proposed system,the windows for external contents like communication sessions are arranged according not only to the user's own preference but also to the preferences of the partner. Three display methods are designed and examined.
