Abstract
当研究所では,最重度の肢体不自由者を対象とした意思伝達の補助装置として,随意運動が比較的最後まで残りやすい眼球運動を利用したコミュニケーション装置の開発を手がけている.これまでに市販の画像センサを利用し,眼球運動を検出して意思伝達や環境制御に結びつけるシステムを検討したが,画像センサの操作が分かりにくく使いづらいのが欠点であった.そこで,ビデオキャプチャーカード経由で画像を取りこみ,さらにファイル化して,ソフトウェア上で画像センサと同様な眼球運動計測処理を行うアプリケーションの開発により各種の設定操作を簡易化し,操作性を向上させた.同時にシステムのコンパクト化も実現した.
We have developed eye-gaze AAC system for the people with severe physical disabilities. In this report we describe about new ECS (environment control system) that utilized video capture card system and image processing application. With this system the operator doesn't have to wear sensors or devices to measure eye movement. The system get color eye image through video capture card and this image could be processed in a windows application. Windows application tracks iris and measures its X-Y positions relative for a reference point, even if the operator's head moves. We have utilized this iris position as a switch of ECS. A Werdnig-Hoffmann patients whose voluntary movement is only his eyes, uses this system as a TV control system. A power switch of TV (when he looks it) and cannel (when he rotates his eyeball) can be control by himself.
