Abstract
ここでは,次世代DVDの基本コンセプト,画像圧縮技術,次世代DVDのニーズと必要容量,次世代DVDの高密度・大容量化技術,次世代DVDの基本仕様,青紫色半導体レーザヘの要望などを検討した。現行DVDと同じ0.6mm基板技術は,ユーザメリットや製造者メリットの観点から次世代DVDとして相応しい。また青紫色半導体レーザは,将来レーザノイズや高出力化で改善が望まれる。
Basic concept for next generation DVD, Image compression technology, applications and their storage size, and high density high capacity technology are discussed. The technology based on the 0.6 mm thick substrate that is similar to the conventional DVD is suitable for the next generation DVD using blue-violet laser from the viewpoint of advantages for users and disc manufactures. Smaller laser noise and higher laser power for blue-violet laser afe required in the future.
