Abstract
TE_<01δ> mode and TE_<01(1+δ)/2> mode shielded sapphire rod resonator which is constructed by centering a sapphire rod in a cylindrical conducting cavity is calculated resonant frequency (f_0) and unloaded Q (Q_u) using mode matching method and perturbation theory. temperature characterization of f_0 and Q_u is measured with each resonators using a copper-plated cavity and superconductor, calculated values agree with measured values. When a fused YBCO bulk is used as the lower conductor plate, the measured values for TE_<01(1+δ)/2> mode sapphire resonator are Q_u=134000 at 77 K.
