Abstract
In this paper, at first the resonant frequency, the unloaded Q, and the external Q are measured in four cases of reaction type resonators, which are constructed by exciting a dominant TM-mode dielectric resonator, a TM-mode dielectric resonator, a TE-mode dielectric resonator, and a rectangular cavity resonator by a waveguide; thus, the characteristics of these resonators are discussed. The two-stage bandstop filter (BSF) using the dominant TM-mode dielectric rod resonators is designed with relative bandwidth 3% and 5% in 12GHz, while realization of such wideband BSFs is difficult in ones using the other dielectric resonators. As a result, each insertion loss at the center frequency is 70dB for the 3% BSF and 50dB for the 5% BSF.
