ITSの現状と課題  [in Japanese] State-of-Arts and Problems of Intelligent Transportation Systems  [in Japanese]

ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems:高度道路交通システム)は,道路と車を知能化することで,道路交通の安全性の向上,渋滞の緩和,環境への影響の低減などの課題を同時に解決しようとするものである.ITSは多様な総合情報技術であるが,本報告においては特に道路工学の立場から,ITS開発の現状をまとめるとともに,情報ハイウェーの整備の必要性,道路の知能化及びITSの信頼性に関する課題について述べた.

The purpose of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in Japan is improvement of safety, alleviation of traffic congestion, and solution of environmental problems by intelligent highways and automobiles. From viewpoint if highway engineering, this paper reports state-of-arts of ITS and problems about development of information highway, smart ways and confidence of ITS.
