赤色対応相変化光ディスクの高密度記録と青紫色波長再生互換性の検討  [in Japanese] High-Density Recording of Five-Layered Phase-Change Optical Disk and its Readout Compatibility for Bluish-Purple Wavelength  [in Japanese]

Abstract

相変化記録を採用したDVD-RAM(2.6GB/片面)がまもなく商品化される予定である。一方、DVD-RAMに続く記録容量のより大きい書換え型高密度相変化光ディスクの研究開発が進められている。相変化記録では、アモルファス状態と結晶状態の吸収率差に起因する記録マーク形状の不揃いがオーバーライトジッタを悪化させ、高密度化の妨げとなることが知られている。そこで、アモルファス状態と結晶状態の吸収率を制御できる5層構造相変化ディスクを開発し、その高密度記録特性について検討した。また、将来の青紫色光源での再生互換の可能性を検討した。

DVD-RAM (2.6GB/side) which adopts phase-change recording will be marketed soon. Several attempts have been made to realize much higher recording density. However, the increase in overwrite jitter which is caused by the different temperature rise between the amorphous and crystalline state is an obstacle to improve recording density. In this report, high-density recording capability of the five-layered phase-change disk, which controls absorbance of the two states, and its readout compatibility for bluish-purple wavelength are discussed.
