Abstract
In this study, accidents in a university were investigated systematically and classified to investigate their tendency and background factors. Results demonstrated that accidents tended to occur in experiments and could be divided into two groups. Many cases had individual factors (ex. movement, skill), but some involved interactive factors (ex. wrong impression, communication discrepancy). The latter cases are likely to lead to serious accidents. In particular, differences of experience and knowledge among staff members and students were named as causes in actual cases. Securing safety in university education and study was subsequently discussed.
