Abstract

Input and output queueing ATM switch model with backpressure mode and queue loss mode to decrease the system delay and the cell loss probability under nonuniform traffic is proposed. In the proposed model, queue loss mode is adopted if the size of the backpressure exceeds the threshold. The average system delay is analyzed and the cell loss probability is evaluated under nonuniform traffic. As the results, the proposed model is useful for nonuniform traffic to decrease the system delay and cell loss probability.
