Abstract
MPEGは,ATM網における動画像符号化圧縮方式として有力である.MPEGで生成されるピクチャには,I,P,Bの三種類のピクチャ属性がある.これらはの一定パタンで生成され,伝送されるが,それぞれのデータ量とその情報損失が画像品質に及ぼす影響は異なる.そこで本稿では,ATM交換機におけるMPEG動画像の統計多重が各ピクチャ属性に及ぼす影響をセル廃棄率の面から解析した.また過渡解析により電送パタンが各ピクチャ属性のセル損失率に及ぼす影響も解析した.数値例においては,一番重要なIピクチャのセル損失率は全体のセル損失率よりも一桁程度大きな値を示した.
MPEG is the most promising coding compression technique for video transmission in ATM networks. In MPEG coding, there are three picture types. The data amount of each picture type is different, and data loss of each picture type affects the quality of video differently. In the paper, we analyzed the effect of multiplexing of MPEG video sources in an ATM switching node for the cell loss rate of each picture type of a certain source. Transient analysis was also shown to investigate the effect of I-P-B pattern for the cell loss rate of each picture type. In a case study, numerical results showed that the value of cell loss rate of I-picture is greater than the value of overall one by almost one figure.
