トランク型AAL2音声通信装置におけるFAX通信の制御方式の一検討  [in Japanese] A Study on Facsimile Communications in the AAL 2 Trunk Systems  [in Japanese]

AAL2(ATM Adaptation Layer type 2)の適用領域として,STM系既存網のトランキングが考えられる。このようなトランキング網を構築する場合,既存設備を有効活用するために,AAL2装置をSTM交換機の外付けトランクとして接続する形態が有用である.この場合,AAL2トランクは既存通信サービスを踏襲できることが望ましく,音声だけでなく,FAX通信や非制限デジタル通信の提供も求められる.本稿では,呼制御信号処理,FAX通信および非制限デジタル通信の観点から,AAL2トランクの処理方式を示す.特にFAX通信について,AAL2トランクで実現する場合の課題を整理し,これを解決する構成法を報告する.

AAL 2 (ATM Adaptation Layer type 2) is mainly applied to trunking services between existing STM networks. When constructing the trunking networks, it is useful to connect an AAL 2 trunk system to an STM switch from the outside for the purpose of economical use of the existing systems. It is also desirable that the AAL 2 trunk systems can maintain existing telecommunication services such as facsimile and unrestricted digital communications. This paper describes architectures of the AAL 2 trunk systems in which facsimile and unrestricted digital communications are performed, and also describes problems and the solutions in AAL 2 facsimile communications.
